The book ‘Family Lore’ by Elizabeth Acevedo is a novel about a family grappling with life and grief after their sister, who can predict death, decides to host a wake for herself. To visually represent the themes in the book, I’ve drawn a snapdragon skeleton flower in two stages: one when it’s alive and another when it dies. I chose a screen-printed style to showcase both flower drawings at the same time.
